What is NAS?
Network-Attached Storage (NAS)
A Network-Attached Storage (NAS) device is a storage device connected to a network that enables authorised users to store and retrieve data from a central place. Because of NAS devices are flexible and extendable, you can expand the storage space as you need more capacity. In the meanwhile, NAS is similar to having a private cloud in the office. It offers all the advantages of a public cloud while being faster, less expensive, and giving you fully control.
Who are suitable?
No matter the type of the industry,
NAS systems are ideal for SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) for the following reasons:
Easy to use, usually a dedicated IT professional is not required
Provides 24/7 and remote data availability, which is good for dispersed teams and remote users
Allow simultaneous access by many users
Less expensive than alternative storage methods
Effective at centralising data storage in a secure manner
Fault tolerance is supported on NAS that support RAID
Why are SMEs not a good fit for traditional storage methods?
- Out-of-sync data between each employee and management
- Reliability and accessibility problems if storage errors occur
- Delays in responding to sales and customer service inquiries
- Unable to access the stored data remotely
- Distributed data storage could make it challenging to quickly access specific data when needed.
- Does not support fault tolerance; if the storage device malfunctions, all of the stored data may be permanently lost.
Why must your company have NAS?
A better method for ensuring employee collaboration
Multiple authorised users can remotely access, retrieve, update, and store the data stored on a NAS device at the same time using NAS devices. This will change the way of collaboration from the traditional way. This will help the company improve its working efficiency and productivity, and thus boost the company’s revenue and reputation.
Smaller space required for NAS devices
NAS devices are typically much smaller than servers. As a result, they require less energy and use a smaller physical place. No more server room is needed to file storage, sharing, and backups, you can use NAS to easily achieve it.
NAS systems typically cost less than traditional servers
NAS devices usually cost significantly less than standard servers. Not only does the cost savings include the initial purchase and setup fees, but NAS devices are also often much less expensive to maintain than a standard server. Our NAS Service Provider
